CALL FOR ENTRIES - BURNLEY BUSINESS & INNOVATION AWARDS 2009

The Burnley Business & Innovation Awards Evening is once again taking place to honour businesses that are making a difference in Burnley and we are inviting businesses from across Burnley and Padiham to enter for an award. (The prestigious, sponsorship funded, awards ceremony takes place in a glittering marquee at Towneley Hall on Thursday 18th June 2009.)

In times where the world has turned its focus on economic problems, we are turning our focus on the people and businesses of Burnley that are providing and implementing solutions for continued business success in the current climate.

We gave careful consideration as to whether to proceed with the sponsorship funded event this year given the current climate, but we felt very strongly that there was a need to have a positive event, which highlights and recognises companies who are succeeding through the economic downturn. The event will be a positive platform for optimism, as well as a platform where business support agencies can let businesses know, in an informal atmosphere, what's on offer to help them through these times.

In Burnley, as elsewhere, the business environment is tough, but there can be cause for optimism and opportunities for growth.

Support for businesses through the economic downturn

Burnley Council's Regeneration & Economic Development Unit in association with its business support partners will do all it can to support businesses in the downturn, so if your business is experiencing difficulties, please contact them on 01282 664759.

How to enter your business for an award - You can enter online at www.burnley.gov.uk/businessawards or all 01282 477315 for an entry form.

Order you tickets - You can order your tickets now prior to entering (call 01282 664761). A £25.00 ticket includes champagne reception, 4 course dinner, first class entertainment and one or two surprises, and of course, the award presentations, within a glittering marquee set in the grounds of Towneley Hall.
